Wildfire Safe Eastside - Home Assessment Program

Welcome to the Wildfire Safe Eastside – Home Assessment Program. Wildfires are inevitable, but Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) fire disasters are not.

We live, work, and recreate within the Wildland Urban Interface; an area where wildfire can have catastrophic consequences. As the threat of wildfires continues to escalate, it has become crucial for communities to proactively address the risks associated with these devastating natural disasters. Residents can effectively reduce their home and structures’ ignition potential before a wildfire. With the goal of promoting safety, preparedness, and resilience, the Wildfire Safe Eastside – Home Assessment Program is ready to serve you.

How It Works

  1. Complete the Wildfire Safe Eastside request form.
  2. You will be contacted to schedule your home assessment. You do not have to be home, but it is helpful if you are. (Plus, you'll learn more about wildfire mitigation). Surveys take approximately one hour.
  3. Your home will be assessed on the scheduled day/time.
  4. You will receive a report with recommended mitigation measures. Any questions? Contact us to discuss next steps, request a community wildfire preparedness assessment and/or presentation, etc.
  5. We may follow up with you to inquire if mitigation recommendations were implemented. This step helps us better plan to meet the needs of our communities.
What is a Home Assessment

    • Encourage your neighbors to request a home assessment too.
  • Eastside Fire & Rescue gives wildfire preparedness presentations:
    • Communities - invite your neighbors and let's talk!
